Frame Kits include 1/8" thick MDF backing panel, 0.040" thick clear PET facing panel and molding set with concealed corner connectors for assembly and hanging. Moldings are 3/8 inches wide ABS plastic with a metallized mylar surface finish which is virtually indistinguishable from metal. Visible size is 7.75x21.25 inches Total frameable thickness (image + optional matte ) is 3/16 inch. Assembly is required but consists simply of snapping four (4) corner connectors onto the moldings, no tools are required the frames literally snap together in seconds. The corner connectors fit onto the back side of the moldings and are not visible from the front or sides. The frames dimensions refer to the PANELS so that media of the specified size will fit in the frame. The external dimensions of the frame are 3/8 inch larger than nominal size. While assembling your frames make sure to peel off the protective film from BOTH sides of the plastic panel. ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED. High precision components snap together quickly and without tools. Backing panels are 0.10 inch thick MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) - NOT cheap corrugated cardboard. For 8.5x22 inch images. Outer Dimensions are 8.5.375x22.375 inches.
