Description

A third is good looks, with the tap having a slight shine to it. Lizard Skins is so named because they’ve come up with an impressively tacky surface. Durable and soft are two more qualities that the tape has. While Lizard Skins is American-made, they’ve had an impact on the European peloton, with Team Dimension Data, Lotto-Soudal, and Movistar all wrapping their bikes with the stuff. And it tickles the scales at 50g per set, including bar plugs. This DSP 1.8mm Bar Tape is the lightest, thinnest of their offerings. The tape is backed with adhesive and has some give to it, though Lizard Skins suggests you only want to stretch it enough to provide even tension for wrapping. This DSP 1.8mm Bar Tape is the lightest, thinnest of their offerings. And it tickles the scales at 50g per set, including bar plugs. And it washes well, to boot. The tape resists discoloration better than many cork-style tapes, which is nice when you’re using tape to add color to your bike. Your hands stick to it in the dry, even stick to it in the wet, as the tape doesn’t absorb water. DSP stands for DuraSoft Polymer, a closed-cell foam. The feel is rubbery, something that sticks well to hands as well as to gloves. The edges of the tape are beveled so the tape lies flat when wrapped. Lizard Skins DSP 1.8mm Bar Tape comes in several colors as well as several Camo versions. They have three thicknesses of handlebar tape, one of which should satisfy any rider.
